Faruque Riffat is an UK and Australian trained ENT Head and Neck Surgeon with post FRACS fellowship training (Cambridge University Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital, UK) in surgery for head and neck cancers, thyroid, salivary glands, laser, airway, voice and swallowing disorders. He completed his medical training in UNSW (MBBS Hons 1) in addition to a Master of Surgery (MS).  

Dr Riffat completed the training requirements for transoral robotic surgery for cancer and sleep apnoea surgery at University of Pennsylvania (USA) to be accredited in the DaVinci robot technology.  He was also awarded the fellowship of the international college of surgeons (FICS) and Fellow of American College of Surgeons (FACS).

He has co-edited 1 major book on head and neck cancer and published over 45 peer reviewed papers and book chapters in addition to delivering over 50 conference papers. Dr Riffat was head and neck co-convener at ASOHNS Sydney in 2015 and the world larynx meeting in Cairns.
