Dr Elizabeth Sigston is a surgeon in Otorhinolyngology, Head & Neck Surgery (ORLHNS) at Monash Health, senior lecturer in Monash University’s Department of Surgery, mother, entrepreneur, thought leader and speaker in healthcare and advocate for wellness in medicine and women in leadership. She has previously been the Executive Director of the ENT Unit at Monash Health, supervisor of training, member of the ASOHNS National Training Board, was a finalist in the 2015 Telstra Business Woman of the Year Awards (Entrepreneur) and has recently established an integrated private practice.

Dr Sigston was awarded her FRACS in 2003 and undertook a further 3 years Fellowship subspecializing in Head & Neck Surgery in Victoria and in Paris, France. Liz has a PhD in Head & Neck Cancer biology and has published a new systems based framework for carcinogenesis. She is the clinical lead of a Monash Institute of Medical Engineering (MIME) project, in conjunction with Monash Department of Surgery and Monash Health, for the development of innovative 3D printed reconstruction for head & neck cancer patients. Dr. Sigston has been the recipient of over $1.3M in competitive research grants, is a Supervisor for higher degrees at Monash University and has over 430 citations (NCIB/NHI data, excluding self-citations) of her research work to date.
